Eclipse locking up

I'm having a very severe problem that is having me completely stalled on any further CR4E evaluation. The worst part is that it's somewhat random. Basically, the way it works, is that if I don't edit any reports in my Eclipse session, then everything is fine. Once I've done something with a report, (I don't know if it's related to just opening a report, going into the crystal reports perspective or editing a report) then I'm almost guarranteed to lock up within the next 5-15 minutes. Here's the catch though, it ONLY happens when some kind of UI event is initiated. This generally means me clicking on something. So for example, clicking on a db connection to expand it or clicking on help or renaming a file, etc. It can be anything. The only pattern is that it doesn't start on its own while the IDE is just sitting their idle. It will occur at random while I'm clicking away at stuff. It also SEEMS to only happen when the web server (Tomcat 5.5) is running from Eclipse although it's difficult to confirm this with certainty.

When I say "lock up", I mean the CPU suddenly goes to 100% and the entire IDE stops responding. If I don't kill it quickly (through task manager), then I'm really hosed, because other programs (like task manager) will slowly stop responding too.

Anyway, I've tried this on 2 different desktops... XP Home and XP MCE. I started off by downloading the all-in-one package (beta). After installing, I immediately went to Update Manager and updated all updates that were available... So this means Eclipse, EMF, GEF, WTP, CR4E, etc. So I don't know if it has something to do with the latest combination of components. I created a screen dump of all the version numbers, but I don't see a way to upload images in this forum.

Anyway, please let me know how I can offer more information (haven't found a way to get any sort of useful log file) to assist with tracking this down. Or maybe suggest that I rollback to the non-updated download version?

I've spent all day on just this problem because it's kind of important... and difficult to nail down due to its randomness. And just to reiterate... yes, I am positive that this problem only occurs in conjunction with using CR4E. This is the same IDE and same project that I've been working on for a very long time, so I know it inside and out. Whether it's an Eclipse or a CR problem, I don't know. But I thought I'd start here first.

Thanks
