We have been creating reports using CR2008 and then running them through our Java CR4E SP4 application to actually distribute them. The reports are always distributed as PDF, we don't use any strange fonts (Calibri is used everwhere) and everything is running on Windows XP.
The problem we're getting is that the PDF output from CR2008 is different to that from CR4E. We don't mind the font sizing differences and the fact that the page footer is not honoured or that the sub-report graphs are not sizing properly, but what we can't deal with is the strangeness with the characters.

It's really odd because it looks as though it affects text that is proceeded by percent or contains decimal points.
You'll also notice the japanese charactrs in the top right hand corner - where did they come from?
The CR4E version embeds the Gulim font and seems to exhibit an error when you scroll it saying that it can't export an embedded font.
This is tantalisingly close, any help would be appreciated.
Ok, a little more information - we have downloaded and installed the PDF printer driver (Gnostice Print2eDoc) and used CR4E to print to this service. The following is the resulting output;

As you can see, this fixes the character display problem, introduces a couple of new ones but that's probably to do with printer margins etc.
This seems to indicate that it's definitely an issue with the PDF generator within CR4E and not something intrinsic with the report engine code.
Any help would be gratefully received
